I received a call from the board chairwoman of our church’s local christian school to do some photos of their kids for a brochure. So I had about a half hour to forty-five minutes photo shoot all planned out. I actually wasn’t too nervous about this shoot since I know the children fairly well. I even taught some of them for a year a few years ago.
I had tons of fun and I forgot how easy and hard kids are to photograph. Some of them were really nervous and stiff and I started having them tell me about projects they were working on or cracking silly jokes (which kids get the biggest kick out of no matter how dumb the joke).
Over all it went really well, the only hiccup was a family that came in really late and I had to try to coax them into acting normally. Most of them however soon forgot I was behind a camera and just went with the flow.
